Sunday, the 19th of January 2014, was the Commemoration day of the Death Anniversary of Fr. Victor Van Bortel. There was a solemn Celebration of the Eucharist with Fr. Florence Kujur s.j., Principal of St. John’s School, as the main celebrant. After the Mass there was the blessing of the grave. After the breakfast the Old Boys, who were present for the occasion, walked around the campus, recalling the days they had spent in Kishor Nagar.

On 15th January 2014 all the teachers of Kishor Nagar gathered in the school Staff Room at 9.00 am for the Inauguration of the workshop. The Director gave a brief introduction and explained the purpose of the programme. Kishor Nagar was started 43 years and over the years major changes have come about in the world around us, even in the villages. It is time to reflect on the present environment in which we have to function and to deliberate on the objectives of Kishor Nagar in today’s fast changing society.
The Kisnor Nagar family wishes all of you a Happy New Year. May the year 2014 bring peace and understanding among all people.
We also wish to thank all our friends for their concern and support to our home.
Thanks to your encouragement and help Kishor Nagar is very much alive to day.
Today one of our boys is leaving for Goa, as he has been selected for the army, a job with some security. His name is Amrit. One of the older boys here in Kishor Nagar, he will be missed. Not only by the staff but also by the other boys as he was teaching Science and Hindi in class 4 and 5. Continue reading
If you spend 2 months at Kishor Nagar like I did, then you notice everyday how happy the boys are, be it at play, in class or at work. Going around with a camera the boys will act excited and crazy when in groups but suddenly all serious and shy when alone.

On Sunday the 17th of November Kishor Nagar was visited by members of the Ranchi Samaritans Round Table. They did not come empty-handed. They knew how much the boys at KN love their sports and therefor they brought some new equipment.

This week the boys have started with the harvesting of the rice. The rice is still cut by hand but with the manpower available the fields are picked at machine speed.
Our munna (little boys) football team participated in the St. John’s Centenary Munna Football Tournament which was held over three days from the 1st until the 3rd of November.
Semi-final is played against St.Ignatius Gumla.
