The construction of the “new hall” is in progress, slowly and steadily.
This refectory for the boys should be ready for inauguration by the end of November.
Meanwhile ‘uncle’ Pol has arrived for his annual (working) holiday. He is getting the oldest building (teachers quarter and handicap rooms) on the campus patched up and ready for a few coats of paint. The work on this building will be mostly payed for by the city of Destelbergen in Belgium.
The boys are always happy to help uncle Pol.
The big water reservoir has also been cleaned up and repaired. While in the past the different outlets were stuffed with whatever was available to stop the flow, now valves have been added to control the flow to the fields. The valves are closed off with locks to prevent them of being stolen.
The boys help Eugene with the finishing touches.
So far very little work has been done for repair work of the “Hospital”. Some patch up work was done on the roof, but it is still leaking. Major repairs are needed because at present the walls and even the floors are wet. Too much moisture is harmful for the sick.
