In the last few months with the help of well wishers and friends we were able to establish good contacts with local agencies and organisations which are able to contribute to the growth and development of Kishor Nagar.
The work of deepening the pond in progress
Deepening of the ponds (two water harvesting structures)
In the month of November 2015 two Field Officers of Krishi Gram Vikas Kendra visited Kishor Nagar and examined the existing water harvesting structures (ponds) to find out whether these could be deepened and be converted into real ponds, which would hold water the whole year round.
Welcome to the new domain kishornagar.org.
As Kishor Nagar is an organisation we decided that we would be best served with a .org domain name.
From now on all Kishor Nagar news will be published on this new address.
Greetings from the Kishor Nagar family. As we have entered the year 2016 we feel very grateful for all the support we have received in the year that has passed and we look forward with hope to the days to come.
We express our sincere gratitude to all our benefactors, who have made it possible for us to complete substantial repairs and renovation works. At the same time new initiatives in the field of academics as well as extra-curricular activities were also started.
Renovation of physical structures or building up of new structures is relatively easy tasks. What is more challenging and more important is the “building up of the institution” which aims at helping the disadvantaged children to grow up into good human beings who can find their place in society and live with dignity. This was the vision and inspiration of Fr. Victor Van Bortel. In the fast changing environment in which we live it is our constant endeavour to remain faithful to this inspiration while at the same time responding creatively to the new challenges which affect our life and the institution.
THE JOY OF LIVING
In the last three years the repairs and painting of buildings as well as renovation has been has been an ongoing process. Here is a brief review of some of the works completed in the last twelve months.
THE BIG WELL
The main well, a landmark on the campus, was dug and constructed in the early years of Kishor Nagar. In recent years the structure look dilapidated. After a lot of discussion on how the repair it, the contractor came up with a new idea. You can see the outcome on the photo. We have replaced the old pump with a submersible one with an automatic switch off system. This helps us to save water as there is no more overflow of water.
