Greetings from the whole Kishor Nagar family.
With joyful hearts we just celebrated Christmas, knowing that God loves all human beings and invites them to care for one another.
We express our gratitude to you for your help and support to Kishor Nagar. It is thanks to your encouragement, concern and support that Kishor Nagar is very much alive today.
In 2013 we were able to start some major repair works; some have been completed (repairs of godowns and store rooms), others are in progress such as the renovation of the dispensary (our small hospital). Two new constructions have also come, a small dining hall and one extra wing of WCs.
Our main objective is of course to give the boys a good education up to class 10. In the beginning of the academic session 2013-14, we had a one-day seminar for our teachers. It was in fact a refresher course in order to bring about some innovations in our teaching methods. Through Sports and other co-curricular activities the boys acquire basic skills that will help to stand on their own feet when they pass out from here. The Annual Sports Day has created a lot of interest in Athletics among the boys. In addition to football and cricket, the boys also play hockey and Net Ball. The hockey team took part in the Inter Jesuit Schools Championship in Simdega and 8 Kishor Nagar boys are in the Jharkhand teams (4 in the under 19 age group and 4 in the under 17) for the National Netball Championship. With hope we look forward to the New Year 2014. Kishor Nagar was started 42 years and in the last 40 years major changes have come about in the world around us, even in the villages. We have plans to go through a process of reflections and deliberations on the role of Kishor Nagar today. It is time to look back and reflect. In the month of January itself we shall have a two days workshop with our staff to reflect on the present environment in which we have to function and to deliberate on the mission of Kishor Nagar in today’s fast changing society.
We continue to rely on your encouragement and support. May 2014 be a year of peace, mutual understanding and cooperation among all people in India and in the whole world.
