On the 12th of September our Juniors Football Team travelled to Gumla to take part for the first time in the Guru Bhakt Munna Football Tournament organised by St. Ignatius High School Gumla. Br. Ajit Kerketta and the two coaches of Class 10, Praful Ekka and Sunil Munda, accompanied the team.
On the first day tour boys took time to adjust to the new environment. Out of the three matches they played they lost in two and drew one. The next day they picked and won two matches and ended with a draw and qualified for the semi-final. From here onwards there no stopping them, they made it to the final and won the shield defeating Loyola School Khunti.
On 19-20 September we organised the annual Fr. Victor Van Bortel Memorial Kishor Football tournament. The time was not very suitable and only 12 teams reported. Our team captured the running shield for the first time.
Then we had the finals of the inter-house football tournament in which Birsa House were the winners.
It was a busy month with a lot of work in the fields. On account of very irregular monsoon rains and therefore insufficient water in the rice fields, too much grass came up and this had to be removed in order to allow the rice to grow. This was a time taking job, but many hands make the work easy.
At the end of the month Fr. Walter, the headmaster got busy with the preparation for his trip to Europe. He left from Ranchi on the 1st of October and landed in Belgium on the 2nd where the friends of Kishor Nagar welcomed him. He has quite a busy schedule meeting friends and benefactors and attending meetings. The last three days of his stay in Europe he will spend in Rome meeting Jesuit companions and visiting the city.
Great Job Congrats to all the boys. Love you all.
